The Dubai airport is the world's 10th largest in passenger traffic and 3rd largest in international passenger traffic. Terminal 3, completed in 2008 is night and day difference from the older terminal 1. Terminal 3 is the world's largest airport terminal and the 2nd largest building in the world, based on floor space. It also is immaculate. They have flashing lights around the entrance, a wall waterfall, plush gate areas and shopping that rivals a lot of malls.

Terminal 1 is more like any typical airport here in the states. And this is the terminal you will use if you arrive or depart from Dubai in anything other than Emirates Airline or Quantas Airline.
